I am the technology cluster in my school. Also, I am the technician, data specialist, plugger inner, SmartBoard go to girl, etc. Are there any technology coaches who work in an Elementary School in this group? I would love to have some insight on how your schedules work and how the coach position was incorporated into your staff. As educators we all where many hats and I would love to have a technology coach position implemented in my school since technology is continually advancing and I feel like I spend most of my day helping other staff while I am trying to teach as well. Any ideas to share?

Hi folks. I am starting to pack up for summer storage and close out the itil year. We have had a successful year despite some set backs. As a successful itil school my advice to others is to be very organized when packing up. Pack up, based on what you know about September staff and classes. It will make for a smooth opening.

Thank you for creating this group. Currently, I am aiming to transition from a computer lab cluster teacher to a tech coach, in my current school (PS/MS 4) or somewhere else. We have so many unused resources stowed away in our school, and I would like to be using my time to work with teachers to be employing these resources fully in the classroom setting. Frankly, teachers are using computer mainly for typing, with Internet research and PowerPoint added in the middle school. A massive culture shift is sweeping over us, and I see so many teachers just turning away from it, because it is too overwhelming.

Ning recently approved a trial program to remove the ad component from any existing or new educational Ning networks for students in grades 7 - 12! You can create your own network easily. Check out the following: http://education.ning.com/ for some helpful suggestions, etc.

Anyone have an alternative to My Space? One that will get through Websense? I have teachers with good ideas for using My Space to create pages for literary characters and having them interact in character, but I can't find a way to set it up for them. I really can't justify teaching eighth graders to jump off the school's network and log on to 'my babys mama' to use my space, even if it is a great sounding project. Any ideas?
