View my unit plan on WWII at http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ddzn78zg_315c7drk4kc . It is a plan which ties together history and current events while focusing on the civil rights of several diverse groups. Please feel free to use it in your classroom with credit to the author. You can view the cyber-texts used in this unit by clicking on the active links within the plan. I used many of the same research to plan this unit as in my analysis of my poetry teaching (posted in the Literacy content discussion forum).

I recently worked with a Social Studies teacher who used her Smartboard and Notebook software to create interactive Ven diagrams. This was fun for the students because they were actually able to go up to the Smartboard and manipulate the diagram with the markers. Soon, we will be using Inspiration to make more advanced interactions.
